Bicycle Tech Bar is a rider owned and operated shop offering sales, high quality repairs & custom builds on all makes and models of bicycles, wheels and suspension.

Wayne, the owner and operator, is a qualified bicycle technician and award-winning rider. His passion for bicycles and racing becomes immediately apparent as you enter the tech bar, where he continues to exceed customer’s expectations with his knowledge and expertise.

Wayne honed his technical skills working at many bicycle stores around the Central Coast and Newcastle. His skills have been in high demand, which led him to become a mechanic for competitors at Club, State, National and International levels including UCI Competitors and world champions.

Wayne is an ‘old school’ bike fanatic. His obsession was ignited by the 80’s BMX movie ‘RAD’, where he aspired to learn as many of the bike manoeuvres as possible. From then on he knew he had to make riding a priority in his life and in 1997 he became a professional in the industry.

Wayne has always been eagerly involved in the bike riding community and continues to keep his associations current in order to stay up to date with the latest developments in racing and products. He has been a member of the Central Coast Mountain Bike club (CCMTB) since 1998, was the CCMTB Downhill (DH) Co-ordinator between the years 2004 to 2009 and NSW State DH Co-ordinator for the year of 2009. He has been a Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) member for nearly as long and a member of the Central Coast Bicycle Users Groups (CCBUG) since 2016.

Wayne has a keen eye for talented riders and has managed the IXS/Gravity Downhill race team, which included riders Dylan Prohm, Brock Newling & Brad Kelly. He also managed part sponsorship for Downhill racers Josh Button, Tom Patton, Tim Eaton, and Nathan Rennie!
